Audi A5: Windows stutter when using remote top open/close feature

Problem:
One or several windows sometimes stop briefly, then continue while the top is being openened or closed from the remote. This might happen several times in a row.

Cause:
The brief interruptions are a result of Audi's design of the window controllers. It was never intended from the factory that the windows or the top would operate either without the ignition being on or without any button on the remote being held down. The ignition lock and the remote receiver keep telling the windows to ignore all up/down commands. We found a workaround which uses a couple of tricks to still be able to control the windows. It involves repeatedly transmitting the command until the windows have reached the desired position. The occasional stuttering is harmless and will not damage any electronics or mechanics.

Solution:
Unfortunately there is no real solution to this problem. It is of technical (software in the original factory controller boxes) nature, where we can not change any settings. We had to come up with a workaround which we had to accept as the only way to make it work at all.
