The SmartTOP kit aftermarket automotive electronics specialist Mods4cars announced in August for the Jaguar F-Type Convertible is now available and in stock. “After completion of the first production run of the custom designed Plug-and-Play wiring adapters, the first modules were shipped in mid-November.” explains PR-Manager Sven Tornow. “We already received positive feedback as well.” he continues.

The add-on SmartTOP kit offered by Mods4cars makes top operation more convenient by enhancing the console switch with one-touch operation. It is no longer necessary to hold down the switch for the entire time. A quick touch is enough to start a full automatic opening or closing cycle. Additionally it is programmable if the windows should open or close afterwards.

SmartTOP also allows remote control of the top from the original key fob. A quick key combination is enough. “SmartTOP customers can open the convertible top while still approaching the car and drive off top-down.” says Sven Tornow. No changes need to be made to the original keys or receiver system.

The newest Mods4cars product also comes with a host of bonus features such as separate control of the windows from the remote and an option to reverse the console switch direction. All features can be programmed individually to taste. An extended mode can be activated that allows starting or stopping the engine while the top is moving and it is possible to temporarily disable the entire module while retaining all user settings.

The kit ships with a custom designed Plug-and-Play wiring harness adapter which allows anyone to install it in minutes. Connection between the module and car electronics is made by simply plugging in two connectors. Original parts were used to guarantee a perfect and secure fit. No cutting or splicing of any wires is necessary. Everything can be removed without leaving any trace or damage.

The SmartTOP module comes equipped with a USB port for quick configuration and firmware updates via Mac or Windows PC. Updates and support software are available online, free of charge. “Once you buy a SmartTOP, you always have an up-to-date product.” Sven Tornow concludes.
