Aftermarket electronics specialist Mods4cars just announced the soon to be available SmartTOP add-on Convertible Top Controller for the Volkswagen Beetle convertible. In just a few weeks the new kit will become available and make use of the top easier and more fun. The module adds one-touch convenience to the console switch, eliminating the need to hold down the switch for the duration of the operation. A quick tap is enough to fully open or close the top. This allows owners to enjoy the top-down driving experience more often.
In addition to the one-touch feature from inside, the SmartTOP kit adds another neat feature. The top can be raised or lowered fully automatically from the original key fob remote with just a quick combination of key presses.
“Top control from the original key fob is a very popular feature with our customers. It allows putting the top down on hot days, even before reaching the car”, says PR-Manager Sven Tornow. “The feature can also come in handy when trying to transport bigger items on the back seat. Our customer will not need to get in the car first and manually lower the top in order to start loading. It is possible to get in the car and start the engine while the top is moving. A top operation started from the remote will not be interrupted by turning the engine on. If needed, the entire module can be temporarily disabled. A standard mini USB port built into the module allows quick and easy programming of all user configurable settings as well as flashing firmware updates which will always be available free of charge online.
The SmartTOP Convertible Top Controller for the Volkswagen Beetle convertible will sport the new, custom designed Mods4cars enclosure. Apart from its sleek, fully sealed design it sports two LEDs for detailed status information. The kit comes with a wiring adapter that allows quick and easy installation in the car.
The convenience add-on kit for the Volkswagen Beetle is available for 249 Euros + tax.
