Question:

On the CLK W209/A209 the roll bar light briefly flashes and sometimes the seat belt arm extends right after any top feature was used from the module. Is this a bug?

 

Answer:

These things are normal and a result of a very simple trick the module uses, which allows continued use of the top even if the ignition is turned off or on half way. Light and seatbelt mechanism are not a sign of any problem and nothing can or will be harmed in the mechanics or electronics of the car. The effect can be minimized by always clicking the seatbelts into the buckles when driving (and using the top while driving).
