How to use the modes of operation and how to enter navigation destination while driving (where blocked)

Question:

How do I use the TVHBMZ1 or TVLBMZ1 modes of operation correctly. How can the passenger watch TV while driving and how can the passenger enter navigation destibnations while driving (for systems where destination entry is blocked while the car is in motion).

Answer:

If you press the phone hang up button on the steering wheel TWICE, the module turns OFF, everything is as if the module is not installed. TV playback and (on some newer models) destination entry is not possible while the car is in motion.

Press the hang up button THREE TIMES in a row to activate the TV playback feature. On most models this will enable TV/DVD picture while the car is moving. If this setting DOES NOT enable video output, then please use the next setting.

Press the hang up button FOUR TIMES in a row to activate full speed signal blocking to the COMAND system. This enables TV playback on all models and also enables destination entry on all models where blocked. In this mode it is possible to play back TV/DVD content but the navigation system will not update the position in real time. The car position on the screen will jump and turn by turn navigation is not possible due to the lack of detailed wheel sensor information! In order to use navigation after entering the destination and get turn by turn instructions, press either 2x to disable the module or 3x to only keep the TV bypass on but release the extended signal blocking.
