USB troubleshooting. What if the module doesn't connect or m4cconnect can't find the module?

Troubleshooting tips for connecting the module to USB.

Connecting the module just to the USB port (outside of the car) powers the module through the USB port, the green LED on the module should turn on and stay on as long as the module is connected.

When connecting the module, there should be an immediate reaction from Windows. A sound and a text bubble in the bottom right corner that Windows is searching for the driver should pop up.

On Windows 7 and Vista the driver will be found and installed automatically, if the computer is online. Make sure the internet connection is working before connecting the module for the first time, then wait until the driver is installed. This usually takes anywhere from 30 seconds to two minutes.

Start the m4cconnect software AFTER the driver is installed. Otherwise you will get an error message that "ftd2xx.dll" is not found.

ALWAYS check that you have the latest version of m4cconnect as well. It can be found here: http://www.mods4cars.com/m4cupdate
