I purchased an aftermarket radio and I'm worried I will not be able to program the SmartTOP. Is it already programmed to do all the functions? or is there another way to program it?

Answer:

The SmartTOP STLFBW6 for BMW E46 Convertible can be programmed using
- Text-Setup - Blinker-Setup - USB Port and a PC/MAC

If your car is equipped with an aftermarket radio there are still 2 options left:

Blinker output: The left arrow shows the selected function number by blinking the corresponding number of times, then after a brief pause the right arrow shows the current function's setting by blinking that setting's number of times. Use the function/setting matrix at the end of the manual to see the function and setting numbers.
