Top suddenly gets stuck and won't move on Mazda MX-5 (STHFMA1 installed or not)

Problem:

Very rarely it can happen that the top mechanism gets an invalid position reading or gets thrown out of sync in other ways (an object pinched while closing etc). As a result the top will just freeze and not move in any direction.

Solution:

Is has been brought to our attention that this can happen with or without our module installed, so the first step would be to remove the module and wiring harness completely in order to go back to full stock and check if the problem persists. If it does, then the following forum thread shows a nice and easy way to reset the top electronics.

If the problem goes away after removing the module, try to re-install the module and check again. Please contact us by opening a support ticket in case the problem returns after putting the module in!
