Right after installing the SmartTOP or later down the road the windows suddenly won't close after closing the top

Problem:

The windows won't go up after closing the top and can not be controlled from the remote either. This problem either shows up right after installing the module, after leaving the car garaged for a while or after disconnecting the battery for other reasons. The window electronics simple ignores all "window-up" commands from the top controller.

Solution:

The window electronics has lost the calibration and simply needs to be re-calibrated. That is done by manually lowering both windows, letting go and then pressing the down switches again for 2-3 seconds. Same with up. Raise both, let go and then hold both switches for 2-3 seconds. This "re-learns" the window position encoders and subsequently the window-up commands from the SmartTOP will work again.

Exact steps from the Jaguar owner's manual:

1. Close window fully
2. Release the switch,then lift it to close position and hold for 2 seconds
3. Open the window fully
4. Release the switch,then push it to open position and hold for 2 seconds
5. Lift and release the switch to operate the one- touch function
6. Repeat the procedure on each window
